James T. Dunn received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah in June 1979, Cum Laude. He commenced Law School at the University of Utah immediately thereafter completing his course work in May 1982. He sat for the Utah State Bar Exam in July 1982 and was admitted to the Utah State Bar in October 1982 and the United States District Court for the State of Utah at the same time. He was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Denver Colorado in May 1991. He worked for a law firm for three years, formed a partnership with another local attorney for another three years, and has been a solo practitioner since 1988. With over 35 years of experience he has tried cases in state and federal court including hundreds of bench trials and multiple jury trials to successful conclusion.
His past and present representative clients include, but are not limited to, national and local businesses such as the Sherwin Williams Company, Laidlaw Waste Management (both fortune 500 companies), CCI Mechanical, Taylor Electric, Meridian Title Company, Pioneer Title Company, the Bach Corporations (land developers and builders), Howe Rental & Sales, United Rentals, Utah Flood and Fire Network, Restoremasters (flood and fire remediation), Newman Construction (engineering contractors), and Whipple Plumbing Heating and A/C. He is one of only a handful of Utah lawyers who is also a licensed real estate broker. Having lived in Spain as a young man he is fluent in Spanish. He and his wife Marianne, married since 1979, are the parents of seven adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.
